Current Statistics
Only 50%–71% obtain a high school diploma or GED.
Approximately 25% of former foster youth are incarcerated within two years of aging out.
Between 31% and 46% of former foster youth experience homelessness by age 26.
Fewer than 3–4% complete a four-year degree.
Only about 50% of former foster youth are employed by age 24.
Nearly 80% of foster youth experience significant mental health challenges.
